Few of us manage to get through this life without making a major transition. Like you, I've been through several significant personal transitions: divorce, blending families and healing from disease. I've also navigated professional change like career shifts, corporate mergers and retraining.
I began my career as a publicist working in a variety of industries including finance, technology and the arts. I've always had a passion for advocacy work and worked in the not-for-profit sector for over a decade. After my divorce, I began writing about my transition into the After Wife on my blog Divorce Doula. My personal blog about transitioning through divorce, respectful co-parenting and blending families with my new partner grew into a viable business with consulting, speaking and media opportunities. It also inspired a professional career shift to a Transitions Coach.
I live in North Vancouver, BC with my big, beautiful, blended family which includes our Golden Retriever, Dug and Hobbes the Kitten.
Separation and divorce is one of the most traumatic experiences two people can endure. Divorce coaching can help individuals or newly separated couples identify values and interests, provide emotional support, improve communication skills between family members and help parents develop effective co-parenting skills.
Change does not happen in a vacuum and there is often a need for clear and consistent written communication during a major life transition. As a seasoned communications professional I provide writing and editing services to support you in your transition.
Sometimes we are an agent of change and sometimes change happens to us. Whether it is a career change, change in family dynamics (blended family, caring for elderly parents) or recovering from illness, transition coaching can assist individuals and families evaluate options, make choices and adapt to transition with respect, dignity and grace.
Although most major life transitions are personal and private, occasionally they become public if the individual(s) involved are public figures. As a publicist I can help you identify potential areas of vulnerability, prepare and protect yourself, family and position and successfully navigate media relations and social media in the event of a crisis.
